New Era in Publishing?

The anticipation of the new Apple tablet is reaching hysterical levels. Twitter is ablaze and the rumor merchants can’t type fast enough (wait, would that include me) anyway, safe to say we are all interested.

Apple of late alway’s seems to hit the ball out of the park ( ipod, iphone etc), so this Tablet should be a hit. One question to consider is, can a tablet and itunes bring the same enthusiasm to print media as it did with music, podcast’s and apps? Many in the in industry hopes it will. I Myself, am hoping that Apple will open a new door for individuals to publish their own print and be compensated for the work. If this were the case it might open the door for a lot of good writer’s to be able to get their work published and their message heard.

Its a fun thought and I believe if anyone could do it, Apple would. I guess until Apple decides to let us all in on the news we will have to wait and see, ahhh the anticipation!

Verizon has stated that it’s network is IPHONE ready. that is welcome news if apple would open the IPHONE up to competition. Could be a win win for all!

App Store Downloads Cross 1.5 Billion

From Business Insider:

“Calling it “the largest applications store in the world,” Apple said its app store currently has more than 65,000 apps and 100,000 developers in its iPhone Developer Program.”

One thing that I think is interesting is that with 100,000 developers that’s $10,000,000 a year in developer fees even if they never make an App. Apple is awesome.

How cool is that? After speculation of slow deliveries, some people are reporting early delivery of their iPhone 3GS. Brazilian website MyDock.com.br has posted a YouTube video below:

Realtime App Store Downloads Displayed on WWDC HyperWall

This is incredible, 20 Cinema Displays side by side showing 20,000 iPhone Apps as they are being dowloaded live. More than 3,000 Apps are downloaded each minute from the App Store. Now that’s Awesome!
